Geyserville Ranch, Alexander Valley

On the eastern bank of the Russian River to the western flank of the Mayacamas is our Geyserville Ranch. The vineyard is 96 acres in size. Similar to our Cloverdale Ranch, Geyserville Ranch is located in the heart of the Alexander Valley Appellation. The Merlot for our Red Wine comes from Block 1 Merlot, the Bordeaux clone 181 that was planted in 1997.

The soil is similar to our Cloverdale Ranch – clay loam over sandy clay loam subsoil’s – but with a lower percentage of alluvial gravel sediments. The location is perfect for ripening our Bordeaux reds such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbec.
