That’s a rare judgment on my part, as Cabernet Sauvignon can produce gloriously complete wines on its own from top North Coast appellations, but this does indeed draw some extra textural fleshiness from the Merlot component while also deriving interesting aromatic and flavor nuances from the other varieties. Already very well integrated, this will become even more complex with aging, but is showing beautifully now. It could easily stand up to a grilled steak, but could also play nicely with a roasted duck. That’s impressive versatility"
