“Barrel-aged for just over a year, the grapes are chosen row by row in the winery’s estate vineyard. The aromas of brown-sugared beignets, banana, and apple pie are rich and inviting. With a toasty vanilla character, notes of baked apple and lemon wafers are held up by a fine line of acidity. Accents of tobacco and terroir maintain its complex nature.” July 2022

“A serious Chardonnay regardless of price, this will raise eyebrows at a price below $40. Full-bodied but balanced with fresh acidity and braced by notable oak, it shows aromas of baking spices, roasted nuts, and baked apples, with fruit notes recalling mangoes and ripe peaches adding breadth to the flavor profile. Aging for 13 months in French oak barrels—more than one-third of them new—imparts wood notes that are evident but welcome in relation to the wine’s weight and depth of flavor. It would pair well with comparably serious seafood like seared scallops or swordfish, but don’t worry about this being outgunned by dishes based on pork or veal.” –Tasting Panel Magazine & The Somm Journal, June 2023

“Beginning with a sensational nosing of grilled pineapple and apple pie, this sumptuous Chardonnay offers rich notes of caramel, banana bread, and vanilla bean. The acidity is uplifting and keeps the wine awake in the glass. Biscuit and pine nut relay a round texture while a wedge of lime cools the palate on the finish.” August 2021

“I taste grilled lobster shell,” said Michael Kowalski of Berkshire Mountain Distillery. And this wine’s richness would be delicious with grilled shellfish. It’s buttery and round, integrating some oak phenolics while still finishing clean. —Reviewed by Joshua Greene. August 2021
