2025 Vintage Recap

The 2025 vintage was, in a word, uneventful—in winemaking terms, the best kind of year.

A lack of extreme heat allowed for a long, steady ripening period, with just enough warmth to bring each varietal to optimal maturity. In contrast to 2023—one of the coolest vintages on record, when some blocks struggled to fully ripen—2025 gave us the rare opportunity to pick on our own terms.

Following a welcome wet winter, the growing season began with mild spring temperatures and a timely budbreak. Summer unfolded smoothly, without the heat spikes we managed in 2024, allowing the vines to progress without stress.

Harvest began on August 27th with Pinot Noir for our Rosé, followed closely by Chardonnay. By mid-September, we turned our attention to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, wrapping up on October 11th just ahead of a series of fall rain events.

The wines of 2025 show tremendous promise, striking a natural balance between vibrant acidity and ripe, expressive fruit. In the cellar, fermentations were driven almost entirely by native yeast from our own vineyards—a first for Trione and an exciting step forward in capturing a true sense of place.

With a continued focus on minimal intervention, each wine reflects the character of its site and season. We look forward to watching these wines evolve over the coming years.
